What’s in our Ultra Eliquid?

With all the crazy news about vaping and the misinformation going around we commonly get questions of whether our e-liquids contain certain ingredients. We are going to break down the ingredients we use and what their purposes are in our e-liquids. We will also list all of the common ingredients we get asked about that are not in our products.

Vegetable Glycerin (VG) - Can also be referred to as just glycerin or glycerol, this ingredient can make up anywhere from 20% to 80% of the E-liquid. You will commonly see this referred to on the label as VG/PG ratio. VG is used as a carrier for ingredients, it is thick and is a big part of the vapor you see when you exhale. VG is used in many products including foods, skin creams, shampoo and cough syrup to name a few. While it is commonly referred to as Vegetable Glycerin it can be derived from multiple sources. The most common is Soy based however there is also coconut, palm, mustard seed and corn based. We use palm based USP grade VG in our e-liquids. In our testing palm based has the best taste and is slightly sweet. We use only USP kosher/halal certified VG in our products. This is important as VG can also be a byproduct of biodiesel, which is not to be used in e-liquids. What is USP? Here is what it means below. It is a quality grade assurance that our VG is 99.7% or higher purity.

U.S.P. A chemical grade of sufficient purity to meet or exceed requirements of the U.S. Pharmacopeia (USP); acceptable for food, drug, or medicinal use; may be used for most laboratory purposes.

Propylene Glycol (PG) – This is another carrier or sometimes a solvent. Don’t be scared by the word solvent as it only means it is easy to dissolve things into. This is why it is used, it allows the flavor manufacturers to create flavorings that don’t separate. It is odorless and tasteless while having the viscosity of water. It helps thin the E-liquid so that it can wick properly in your vape. It also carries flavor much better than VG. PG is used in many products like inhalers, smoke effect machines and syrups. Some people can have a rare allergy to PG that causes them to break out in hives. The prevalence of this in vapers is very very low, however if you are one of the few people allergic search for high VG products or ones that substitute PG for PDO. PG also gives the vape product the throat hit that many describe as making it feel closer to a cigarette in terms of inhalation.

Flavoring- Our e-liquids as you guessed contain flavoring. All flavoring’s we used are GRAS (generally recognized as safe) certified. This means they contain no known toxins and are actually used in tons of food products. Flavorings make up anywhere from 5%-50% of the E-liquid. Some flavors aren’t as strong as others and require more or less flavoring to get the desired taste. All our products are blends of many flavors to make the robust and flavorful E-liquid. We work with multiple flavoring suppliers to make our e-liquids. Some of our flavorings are specifically made for us as we were not happy with the offerings on the market. Almost all flavorings are PG based as it is the most effective at carrying flavor ingredients.

Nicotine- Whether your buy our salt nicotine or our regular nicotine we use only the highest quality nicotine available. We purchase our nicotine through a Canadian supplier of pharmaceutical grade products. USP grade nicotine is what they start with to create their salt nicotine. Nicotine accuracy is important and working with the highest quality manufacturers of nicotine ensures we are giving our customers the cleanest possible product. Nicotine is extracted from tobacco leaf which makes up a very small percentage of the plant. Now we are seeing synthetic nicotines available on the market. These are racemic products that are chemically identical to those derived from tobacco plant, however with the added benefit of not coming from tobacco. Currently synthetic nicotines are too expensive for us to offer in our products however in the coming years we expect these to become cheap enough to be used in every day vape products.

What Ingredients are not in our E-Liquids?

• NO VITAMIN-E ACETATE - This is the contaminant responsible for the illnesses and deaths in the United States (from Contaminated cannabis vape products) These were found by the CDC to be only related to Cannabis products not nicotine vape products

• NO THC- Our products have never nor will ever contain THC.

• NO CANNABIS – Our products are manufactured in a Cannabis free facility.

• NO MCT OIL – MCT (medium chain triglyceride) oil is not used in nicotine e-liquids nor will it ever be.

• NO LIPIDS OR FATTY ACIDS – This is another product used in the cannabis industry but not the nicotine E-liquid industry.
